Further to our letter of the 9th November last, we continue to have trouble over the Hongkong Government's official analyses of Tin.

We have had two recent parcels, one on the s.s. "HAWAIN" to New York

Hongkong Government analysis 99.08 %, Messrs. Ledoux & Co. (New York) 98.52 %, the other on the S.S. "CITY OF EVANSVILLE" to London Hongkong Government analysis 99.11 %, D.C.Griffith & Co. (London) 98.96 %.

There is no doubt that an inaccurate assay is being made in Hongkong, and this results in considerable trouble and expense at our end. Consumers are beginning to take the view that the Hongkong analysis is quite unreliable, and this is having a detrimental effect on the sale of this brand of Tin.

We hope immediate steps will be taken to rectify the position, and look forward to your reply.
